New Integral SVR-PRO SATA III SSD delivers 10 times capacity for server rooms and data centres

Integral Memory and have teamed up with Korean Flash storage provider Novachips to develop a new range of Solid State Drives that deliver an exponential leap in capacity and performance. The new breed of SSD use a unique storage control architecture that meets the growing need for ‘up-scale’ expansion among enterprise data centres. The launch of their first co-produced product, the SVR-PRO SATA III SSD, heralds a “seismic shift” to the growth of server rooms across Europe.

At the core of the product is a new daisy-ring architecture that releases the capacity restrictions of conventional parallel configurations. As each HyperLink NAND (HLNAND) Flash is connected directly to the next device in the loop, effectively each unit of flash is driving a single load, allowing an unlimited number of devices per channel.

“This breakthrough makes ‘scaling-up’ data centres an appealing alternative to ‘scaling-out’ across expensive extra floor-space,” explains Samik Halai, Senior Product Manager at Integral Memory plc.

The Integral SVR-PRO SATA SSD 100-SRI and 200-SMW models offer up to 8TB of data storage and are designed to deliver intensive applications in today’s world of ‘Big Data’. The 100 SRI series is geared for performance hungry applications and features good balance of low latency and read and write IOPs, ideal for Video on Demand, streaming, web server and file server. The 200 SMW model, with endurance in mind, delivers 11,680 TBW, which is ideal for servers that constantly perform mixed workload tasks.
